The Ever-Popular Big Bus Show Pulled in the Bus Owners and the Visitors
Stonham Barns Park The Big Bus Show wowed visitors on Sunday 10 August with the form of transport loved by so many … in all vintages, shapes, colours and sizes.
The Big Bus Show saw around 120 historic and modern buses exhibited at the show – and other vehicles featuring transport through time – on display for enthusiasts of all ages to enjoy. The show featured buses & coaches ranging from the 1930s to the present day. Model displays on show too.
Visitors to the show had the opportunity to vote for the Visitors Choice, an accolade that is sought by many a bus owner. With an array of trade stands including those selling transport memorabilia, a variety of food and drink vendors and showground attractions too, it was a fun and educational event for all the family.
Social media sensations The Travel Trolls attended the event too. Dan and Mazzy – travel around the UK and beyond – in their ‘lifestyle bus’ or (more accurately) motorhome, vlogging about their everyday lives. They have visited Stonham Barns Park many times and have built up a solid following in Suffolk.
The bus show was brought to the public by The Eastern Counties Bus Preservation Group who exhibited their own vehicles at the show. Said Jamie Vendy, ‘This year’s show was a resounding success. It has been building in size and scope each year to what is now a major show in the East Anglia region.’
‘We just want to thank the bus and coach owners, the enthusiasts, their families and all those who came along for a Big Bus Day out!’
‘It’s all about the nostalgia of transport and bringing some delightfully restored buses to the event where they can be seen and enjoyed by all.’
Top Field Light Railway from Reepham attended the show with a Portable Railway with Miniature Engines hauling trains throughout the day.
Says organiser and bus owner Richard Ward, ‘The Big Bus Show was particularly successful this year! It’s the fourth only bus show for Stonham Barns Park although vintage vehicles and car shows are an integral part of the event calendar.’
