Scooter and Music Weekender is planned for Spring Bank Holiday … with charity ride out in aid of homelessness charity Emmaus

Stonham Barns Park will be staging another brand-new event featuring music, machines and a little bit of madness – from Friday 26 May to Monday 28 May 2023 to span the Spring Bank Holiday weekend to include a charity ride out on behalf of Suffolk homelessness charity Emmaus supported by Davey Bros Motorcycles of Ipswich.

Channelling all things mod and ska, the Suffolk Scooter Show will feature 100s of new, vintage, rare and classic scooters from clubs around the country. It will be one of the new shows for the venue this year featuring top entertainment from DJs and bands including Bad Manners with Buster Bloodvessel, the West End Show ‘All or Nothing Experience’ (The Music of the Small Faces), Special Kinda Madness, Skabucks, Pat O’Reilly & The Goldmaster Allstars, Skaburst UK, The Mod Show, The Bootleg Jam plus Professional Top Ska & Motown, Two-Tone and Northern Soul DJs.

The weekend – presented in association with RZ Promotions – will also feature competitions and all the fun you would expect from the scooter scene.  There will be live music, scooter shows, competitions, 50s and 60s fashion, games, golf, a mega car boot sale, camping, glamping and caravanning.

Said Stonham Barns Park Events Manager Fraser Carson, ‘This is a first for Stonham Barns Park and we are so pleased to be hosting such a nostalgic event full of mod culture which is centred on scooters, fashion and music.’

‘With so many DJs and bands we are expecting a wide range of Ska, Soul, Mowtown, Northern Soul and two-tone music.  The sights and sounds of so many scooters together will make it a show not to be missed.  We are expecting a great atmosphere and will be looking to take people back through the decades when life was simpler – and possibly more fun!’

‘Scooters galore will be coming to Stonham Barns Park and we want people to join us for this special weekender of get us set for what we hope is the long summer ahead!’

On Saturday 27 – as part of the weekend – a charity ride out will take place from Stonham Barns Park (at 12.00 midday) to The Royal Oak to raise money for Emmaus who work to end homelessness. Bacon rolls will be available at The Royal Oak which is the charity’s food hub in Ipswich. For those who attend the event the cost of the ride out is included in the entry fee and for those who do not attend the whole weekend entry to the event is £10. All those taking part in the event will receive a free patch!

DJs and bands will be appearing both inside at venues – including Legends Sports Bar – and also on the venue’s outdoor stage.
