Traction engines and vintage vehicles bring history to life in Suffolk

Stonham Barns Park, one of Suffolk’s premier leisure, retail and holiday destinations, is staging the Steam & Vintage Show on Saturday and Sunday 21-22 May 2022.

The two-day show brings together a collection of historic traction engines, steam rollers and other historic exhibits such as tractors stationary engines, agricultural and construction vehicles, vintage motorcycles and bicycles, wood and metal craft and much more besides.

There will be demonstrations and during the weekend the vehicles will be parked up in an area for the public to view more closely giving visitors the chance to examine them and talk to the owners.

There will be a vintage market selling gifts and unique items, along with Morris Dancers, archery, the spectacular Vander Wheel of Death show, kiddies’ corner, dog displays, trade stalls, food outlets and a licensed bar.

Janice Rowles of Stonham Barns Park said: ‘This is such a favourite show that we had to miss during the pandemic and for this reason we are so looking forward to welcome everyone back for some fun at what we hope will be a very memorable event.’

‘We are fortunate to have such dedicated historic transport owners here in the county of Suffolk which makes this day one like no other.  The sights, sounds and colours of the day will make this an outing for all the family.’

A range of food and drink outlets will be available on the showground with outdoor and indoor seating. Dogs are welcome but must be kept on leads.

Stonham Barns Park does not just offer great shows and events, there are also many attractions onsite including an owl and bird of prey centre, pirate adventure golf course, 9 hole golf course, vintage dodgem rides and funfair rides, indoor soft play centre, fishing lakes, teapot pottery, restaurant and tea room and plenty of unique shops and much more.
