The all-action event that will feature the sights and sounds of the past

Stonham Barns Park is preparing for a weekend of fast-moving action as it salutes the past with its History Alive! Show.

History Alive is East Anglia’s premier re-enactment on 25 and 26 June 2022.  There will be thrilling combat displays and living history encampments featuring everything from Viking Warriors and American Settlers to WW2 German infantry, 12th Century Crusaders and more.

There will be many different re-enactment groups from various periods of time, providing complete living history experiences from dark age medicine, tribal food and drink to other crafts and skills along with armour and weaponry demonstrations. There is also period music and entertainment to suit all ages.

Some of the groups involved in the show include: Suffolk Swords (15th Century Knights), Lazy Co (US Cold War), Children of the Revolution (French Revolution), The Militias of Anglia (17th Century Militia), Airborne Assault 1944 (WW2 1944), Immortals (5th Century Persion), La Columna Spanish (Spanish Civil War), Herigas Hundas ( Saxons),  Wuffa ( Saxons and Vikings), Norfolk and Norwich Medieval Association (14th Century), Spearfish Creek (19th Century American Settlers), Das Heer (WW2 German Infantry),  and more besides.

Commenting on the event, Mark Warren from Stonham Barns Park said: ‘This is another memorable and fun day out for people of all ages.  The venue is transported back in time for a weekend – and it makes for colourful, nostalgic and action-packed family entertainment.’

Craft and re-enactment traders will be at the show plus vendors serving food and drink all day.

Please note – this event will feature the use of gunpowder and will include simulated fighting scenes that create a lot of smoke and loud noises.
