PDC superstars and Suffolk locals Stephen Burton and Ryan Meikle scoop top prize

Stonham Barns Park – one of Suffolk’s premier leisure, retail and holiday destinations – staged a new darts tournament last weekend (18 November) in the company of some of the country’s top players, including PDC tour card holders, Stephen Burton, Ryan Meikle and Keegan Brown. Also playing was England International Jo Locke.

The Grand Slam Doubles event had a full entry of 160 players but Stephen Burton and Ryan Meikle showed their superstar skill to win the tournament which was organised by Evolution Darts, with the support of Target Darts and The Darts Referee (YouTube’s no1 darts influencer). The event – with a £2000 prize fund – saw competitors coming from all over the UK to play at the community venue, The Barn.

Stonham Barns Park has been hosting various darts events at the new Legends Sports Bar – named in honour of a variety of sporting legends – since its opening with one of the most recent being hosted by famous names from the world of darts, Russ Bray and Ipswich-based Keith Deller.

Said Darren Moyes from Evolution Darts, ‘This was the perfect venue for the Grand Slam event and we were delighted with the way it all went.’

‘It was a fabulous tournament for the doubles players and a great opportunity for darts fans to watch some top quality matches live.’

Next year a £7000 Suffolk Super Series event is being planned by Evolution Darts. With a qualifying event and the Grand Finals day being hosted at Stonham Barns Park. More details are available from Evolutiondarts.co.uk
