Free ‘Fun Sessions’ Offered by New Owners of Soft Play Centre

Alpha Leisure Group’s Cheryle Bennington at Tumbledown, Stonham Barns Park

Tumbledown soft play at Stonham Barns Park offers ‘Open Day’ fun for all on  Saturday 5 March

The new owners of Tumbledown soft play centre at Stonham Barns Park – one of Suffolk’s premier destination venues – will be offering free play sessions on Saturday 5 March.

The venue – a favourite with children, parents, childminders and school groups – has been operating under the management of Alpha Leisure Group since January and it is hosting the sessions to introduce more families to the leisure facility. Alpha Leisure also runs Hulabaloos soft play centre at Wymondham, Norfolk.

Free sessions will be provided for families who are venturing out to indoor and outdoor leisure destinations as restrictions around Covid are further relaxed. Tumbledown offers soft play, party packages, food, special themed activities and private hire for birthday parties.  Future themed events at the centre will include Cupcake Decoration and Build My Bear. The children who visit on the ‘Open Day’ at Stonham Aspal, near Stowmarket, will also get the chance to meet Chase the dog from the children’s TV series PAW Patrol.

Explains Alpha Leisure Group’s MD David Finch, ‘Tumbledown is the second soft play centre for the Alpha Leisure Group in the East of England and we are delighted to have it up and running as the need for socialising and play has never been greater.  The initial response to the refresh we have introduced has been hugely positive and we will be introducing further enhancements to the facility in the months ahead.’

‘When we found out that Tumbledown was available to manage, we jumped at the chance to get involved.’

‘So many parents and children who use our nurseries have said how much they like the venue and so it made sense to us to see if we could add it to our list of business acquisitions.  We reached out to the team at Tumbledown and opened less than four weeks later with new staff and suppliers in place – including Bistro at the Barns who are helping us with the lovely food we serve at the venue.’

‘Soft play venues such as Tumbledown are essential for the wellbeing of both children and their parents.  They are great for play, parent socialising and are an integral part of communities as we all return to interacting as we did before the pandemic began.  It is good to have kept Tumbledown open to the public and we want to celebrate this fact by offering the Open Day free play sessions. We look forward to welcoming families from the region to this much-loved children’s activity.  We are anticipating fun times ahead!’

Tumbledown also has a special Sensory Room for children and young adults who have Special Education Needs or Disability (SEND). This specially designed amenity draws visitors from Stowmarket, Ipswich, and Bury St Edmunds. It means that Tumbledown can be an inclusive play venue and entertainment zone for all children from all over the region.

Tumbledown will partner with other businesses based at Stonham Barns Park to offer families a complete day out in mid Suffolk.  Other attractions include The Owl Sanctuary, The Golf Centre, The Escape Rooms and Bloomfield’s Amusements.
