‘Paint Your Own’ Teapots and Ceramics for all the community to enjoy
The artisan teapot pottery Carters of Suffolk – based at Stonham Barns Park – has announced the introduction of ‘Paint Your Own’ teapots and ceramics sessions both at its pottery and tearooms and in a variety of community settings.
The ‘Paint Your Own’ Sessions will take place at the pottery at Stonham Aspal with the option of seeing demonstrations of how the teapots are made from a split moulding process using earthenware clay, painted and finished by experienced painters. And for those who take on the challenge of painting there will be tea, cakes and light lunches on offer from the Teapot Pottery Tearooms. It is expected to be popular with parents and children during the forthcoming half term holiday.
For groups who would prefer the creative experience of painting an item from within their own setting, the session can be taken out to the community. Groups who have already expressed an interest in the idea already include those covering Sheltered Homes, Care Homes and schools. It is also hoped to introduce the concept to Men’s, Women’s, Youth and Children’s Play groups.

Prices for the sessions – which are normally £6.50 – will be halved for the whole of the half term to £3.25 per person added to the price of the pottery piece that is selected for painting. Each item is priced individually and there are a full range of price points to choose from. All painting materials and paints are supplied. Manufacture is 8-10 days from painting to delivery.
The Teapot Tearooms serve hot and cold drinks, newly introduced cream teas, cakes and light lunches. The menu includes a variety of cakes, pastries and muffins as well as warm soup and fresh baked rolls!
The venue is a meeting place for friends and family with its own children’s play area.
