New programme to draw in the crowds during Autumn/Winter

The Aspal Theatre at Stonham Barns Park – one of Suffolk’s premier leisure, retail and holiday destinations – is set for a mega comeback designed to offer a stunning line up of value entertainment over the Autumn/Winter months.

Kicking off the programme is an Open Mic Night (24 September), followed by Glamtastics (22 October), The KT Bush Band performing the music of Kate Bush (5 November), Open Mic Night (12 November), and Christmas Dance (17 December).

Open Mic Nights are open to all but artists must pre-book to secure a place.

The KT Bush Band was formed in 1977 by guitarist Brian Bath, drummer Vic King, bassist Del Palmer and Kate Bush on vocals and piano.  Their set consisted of classic soul and rock covers, Brian’s original songs and many of Kate’s songs before they were released on the EMI label. The band performed around London before some of the songs were released by songwriter Kate Bush on The Kick Inside.  Fast forward 40 years to 2017 and Brian has taken The KT Bush Band back on the road performing the music of Kate Bush.  He is joined by Sallie-Anne Hurst on vocals, Steve Bevan on bass, Emily Francis on keys and Pet Turtle on drums.

With Running Up That Hill making it back to the top of the charts after its debut on Stranger Things, interest in the music of Kate Bush is back with a vengeance.  The song was ranked as the ‘Song of the Summer 2022’ with over 497million streams on Spotify.

Ticket information is available from www.stonhambarns.co.uk and TicketSource.  Costs range from a donation on the door for Open Mic sessions to £20 or £25 per person for other events.

Commenting on the launch of the new programme for Autumn/Winter John Chapman of The Aspal Theatre, said: ‘The Aspal Theatre is a quality venue in mid-Suffolk and – after new investment and an extensive refresh of the facilities – this music, arts and comedy hub is back with a diverse range of entertainment for forthcoming season for music and comedy followers from the East of England.’

‘The programme will kick off with Open Mic and then the tribute bands and will take us through to the Christmas party season.  We are pricing the events to reflect the increasing costs of living in the hope that this will ensure we can help people through the Autumn/Winter.’

The Aspal Theatre is located beside The Legends Sports Bar, a new facility for leisure park visitors.  It will be the setting for some celebrity sports events covering a multitude of sports including darts, football, rugby, cricket, horse racing, and motorsport.  Plans are already in place to replicate some Las Vegas-style events as well as family activities too.
