A new concept of Antiques & Collectables comes to Suffolk

Offering special items which will represent expressions of people’s personality

Sheila-Rose Antiques & Collectables is a new antiques shop opening at Stonham Barns Park – the leisure, retail and holiday venue in Suffolk.  The business named after owner Mandy Mansell’s late mother Sheila-Rose sells an eclectic mix of antiques and collectables, from Georgian glassware and 19th century sporting guns to upcycled furniture.

Mandy says, ‘We had originally intended to use Suffolk as a short-term staging post during the Covid crisis lockdown before moving to Cumbria and opening my shop there, but after living here for a while I fell in love with place and decided I would rather start my business here.’

Mandy and her partner have spent the last five years living on a wide beam barge that they commissioned and had built when the last child left home, she recounts how, although the winters were hard it’s a life experience, she’s glad she had.  They now live in Barrow, near Bury St Edmunds and Mandy’s outlet at Stonham Barns Park is one of over 40 that are now fully occupied with small to medium sized business.

Mandy recognises that buying trends have changed over the past year.  ‘We have all taken stock of our lives just recently and are more discerning about how we spend our time and our money. You can get whatever you need online these days but there is still nothing better than browsing the things that interest you and finding something that is an expression of your personality that you can keep forever!’

‘That’s what the business is all about.’

‘It’s all about having fine, quality things that make you happy.’

Sheila-Rose Antiques and Collectables joins recently launched Aspal Antiques, Stephen Watkins Art and Lydia’s Fabrics as it opens for business at the Stonham Aspal retail village.
