Jenny’s Ark is part of the Suffolk Owl Sanctuary at Stonham Barns and is a place of animal fun for the very young.
This new attraction marks the introduction of a brand new permanent home for S.O.S. Bank Holiday favourites “Mrs. Jenny’s Ark”, which Stonham Barns regulars will remember as popular Bank Holiday visitors to the Suffolk Owl Sanctuary in the past.
On hand in the new dedicated centre will be a collection of friendly guinea pigs, gerbils, hamsters, rats, pygmy goats, budgies, canaries and bantam chicks to fascinate young visitors, together with an unusual observational bee hive where visitors can see what goes on inside the busy bee community.
Youngsters will also be able to enjoy a quiz trail with prizes and indoor play area of animal-themed ride-on toys as part of their admission.
Staff will be on hand to give talks on best practice and advice for youngsters thinking of keeping pets.
Future developments will soon see the educational and conservational role of the Nature Centre at Jenny’s Ark evolve, focusing on Britain’s endangered indigenous species such as Hedgehogs, Red Squirrels, Scottish Wildcats, Pine Martens, Turtle Doves and Natterjack Toads.
These will be accompanied by a collection of exotic animals, reptiles and creepy-crawlies as the zoo expands throughout this year and beyond.
Admission is via a joint all day 'come and go' ticket to both Suffolk Owl Sanctuary and Jenny’s Ark and includes the many attractions at Suffolk Owl Sanctuary - over 70 beautiful owls and other birds of prey, 3 spectacular flying displays daily, Meerkat Kastle, Red squirrels, the S.O.S. Safari quiz for youngsters, a gift shop and a discovery centre.
